Millennial Coaching

If you are younger than 35, you’re likely categorized as a “millennial.” This may be shocking to some who often see millennials as trendy “hipsters,” often villainized in popular media, but it actually encompasses anyone who passed through childhood and adolescence during the early 2000s.

This age group grew up in a world where everything was digital, and as more of them are entering the professional workforce, coaching methodology must change to meet their needs. Oftentimes, millennials are less open to face-to-face meetings and prefer VOIP conferencing or even video services to complete their monthly appointments. Coaches must be willing to accommodate these specific client needs, especially as older generations begin to retire from the workforce.

We already have apps that offer mental health services, so why wouldn’t we see apps that offer coaching services? With the world becoming more global and access to more web-based resources than ever before, business leaders have the opportunity to connect with the perfect coach, even if they live half a world away.

Additionally, it allows for online tracking of goals. Just like your FitBit tells you when you’ve reached your fitness goals, a coaching app could give you real-time updates on your business objectives.

Business Making Coaching a Priority

As coaching becomes a more popular field, we’re hoping to see more and more business making the process a necessary part of any well-rounded professional development program. Most companies have requirements for employees to attend conferences and talk about their field, and coaching would be an excellent component to those requirements. There’s no end to the confidence and knowledge that can be gained through a coaching program.
